Trust and safety
This page exists because the honest version of this business is more useful to you than the polished one. Here is what we are, what the risks actually are, what we do about them, and where we cannot help.
ProfileOnRent is an introducer, not a platform
There is no site to log into, no public directory of accounts and no automated system running in the background. Nobody's account credentials are stored here. What happens is deliberately manual:
- You fill in a form. It reaches us as an email.
- A person reads it and comes back to you, normally within one working day.
- If we can help, we introduce the two sides and agree the terms in writing over email.
- We raise an invoice. Once it is paid, access is arranged and the rental starts.
- We pay the account owner, and we stay involved for the length of the rental.
Everything on this site — the listing cards, the audience figures, the pricing tiers — is a description of what we broker, not a live inventory you are browsing.
What we can do is make it much less likely, make it survivable when it happens, and refund you if you decide early on that it is not for you. That is the whole job.
What we do to reduce the risk
On the account itself
- Age minimums. Accounts under 12 months old are declined. Under 24 months is declined on LinkedIn. New accounts are the ones that get restricted, and putting one in front of a renter helps nobody.
- Real audience checks. On Instagram, TikTok and X we ask for the analytics screen, not the profile. Bought followers show up immediately in the engagement ratio and are the most common reason we turn a profile down.
- Standing checks. Restriction history, policy strikes and, on Reddit, a shadowban test before every handover.
- Identity. We confirm who an owner is before we put their account in front of anyone. It is the difference between a broker and a Telegram group.
On the access
- Fixed fingerprint. Each account lives in its own antidetect browser profile so the platform sees one consistent device instead of a new one every week.
- Region-matched residential IP. A UK account accessed from a UK residential address. Logins jumping between continents is the single loudest signal you can send.
- Owner keeps recovery. Recovery email and phone stay with the owner throughout, so an owner can lock an account down in about a minute.
- Sending limits in writing. Every handover comes with recommended daily caps for that specific account, and they form part of what both sides agree to.
What you are covered for
15 days to change your mind
Fifteen days from the day access is handed over, for any reason at all. You do not have to justify it and we do not try to talk you out of it. Full refund of what you paid us.
Free replacement, for as long as it runs
If a profile stops working at any point during the rental — restricted, disabled, or the owner pulls it — we replace it with a matched one at no cost. There is no time limit on this.
The full wording, including the situations it does not cover, is on the refunds and replacement page.
What we refuse
We turn work away, and we would rather set that out here than after you have spent time on a form.
- Impersonating a real business or person the renter has no connection to.
- Targeting an individual — harassment, stalking, or pressure campaigns aimed at a specific person.
- Financial and crypto scams, fake giveaways, and anything with a fabricated investment return attached.
- Coordinated political influence work, including astroturfing an election or a referendum.
- Adult content and anything involving minors, in any form.
- Selling accounts outright. Rental only. Permanently transferring a real person's identity to a stranger is a different business with different problems, and we stay out of it.
The inquiry form asks about intended use for exactly this reason. Answering it honestly gets you a faster reply. Answering it dishonestly ends the rental without a refund when it surfaces later.
What we hold about you
- There is no user database and no account to log into. Form submissions reach us as email.
- We never hold your platform password. Access is arranged between the two parties directly.
- Profile URLs and handles are never published on this site. What a renter sees is anonymised until the owner agrees to that specific renter.
- We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not use the accounts ourselves.
- Full detail is in the privacy policy.
If your account is restricted right now
Email hello@profileonrent.com with the account and the exact wording of the notice, or use the support form with the restriction topic selected. That routes straight past the normal queue. Do not attempt an appeal before speaking to us, because a badly worded first appeal is often the one that makes it permanent.
Comfortable with the trade-offs?
Both forms take about five minutes. If you are not comfortable, that is a reasonable conclusion and we would rather you reached it now.
